As Agricultural Employment Support Project for Refugees and Turkish Citizens through Enhanced Market Linkages Project (FESAS – Formal Employment Support in Agriculture Sector) completes its first year, the independent monitoring and evaluation team analyzes the project on-site.
The experts who made the first monitoring visit to the project on behalf of the European Union completed their busy Mersin program between 1 and 2 November.
On the first day of the program, the independent monitoring and evaluation team visited banana production sites in Anamur and Bozyazı and talked to the farmers and workers there. The team continued its meetings in Erdemli and Silifke on the second day.
The independent monitoring and evaluation team was accompanied by Central Union of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives Marketing Department personnel including Contract Farming and Product Valuation Director Mehmet Erol, Supervisor Oktay Erkılıç, Assistant Supervisor Volkan Göngör, Agricultural Engineer Oktay Koç as well as Project Coordinator Tunahan Altundaş and project experts and field teams.
Within the scope of monitoring program, the experts visited Agricultural Credit Cooperatives Mersin Regional Union. They received information from Assistant Supervisor of Mersin Regional Union Marketing Department Ali Ekber Güneş, Deputy Manager of Mersin Regional Union Ahmet Uğuz and came together with cooperative personnel.
