Our Deep-Rooted History

The origins of the Türkiye Tarım Kredi Kooperatifleri date back to the “Memleket Sandıkları” established by Mithat Paşa in 1863.

Socioeconomic organizations based on mutual assistance and solidarity, such as “Ahilik” and “İmece,” which the Turkish nation has successfully sustained throughout history, laid the foundation for the development of modern cooperatives and were carried to more advanced levels through Tarım Kredi.

Today, Tarım Kredi, the leader of agricultural credit and input supply in Türkiye and a socio-economic safeguard for farmers, is the largest farmer organization in the country, with its regional unions, cooperatives, service offices, companies affiliated with the Merkez Birliği, and more than 900,000 members.

Having recognized the strategic importance of agriculture for both our country and the world, Tarım Kredi, as the sector’s leading pioneer organization, has become one of the sources of pride of Turkish agriculture.
